SECU leader recognized as one of Maryland’s most influential women
BALTIMORE (March 3, 2025) – SECU, Maryland’s largest state-chartered credit union, is proud to announce that Amy Basta, the financial institution’s chief marketing officer, has been named a recipient of the prestigious Top 100 Women Award by The Maryland Daily Record for 2025.
In its 30th year, the Daily Record’s Top 100 Women Award celebrates Maryland’s most accomplished women who make a significant impact through their leadership, community service and mentorship. These women have broken barriers and continue to innovate, empower others and pave the way for future generations. Amy was recognized for her exceptional contributions to SECU, and her commitment to supporting others in the workplace, community and beyond.

As Chief Marketing Officer, Amy leads a team of talented, cross-functional marketing strategists focusing on brand, community engagement, creative and written communications, digital and product marketing for SECU. Under her leadership, SECU’s marketing and community campaigns have reached new heights, recognized with several prestigious awards, including the Future Branches Innovators Award for Most Effective Branch Technology Implementation, multiple awards for outstanding marketing campaigns from The American Marketing Association Baltimore Chapter (AMA Baltimore) and the MDDC Credit Union Association (MDDC CUA), and MarCom Gold Award in the Community Campaign category for the team’s work on SECU’s Kindness Month Campaign. In 2024, she was also recognized with a national Ragan Award by PR Daily as a Top Woman in Marketing.
Beyond her work at SECU, Amy also dedicates her time to community service through her role as a Board Member of the SECU Maryland Foundation, her work with BARCS, the Baltimore Humane Society, the Maryland Food Bank and her leadership of SECU’s partnership with the Maryland Marketing Partnership (MMP), which helps promote and foster economic growth in the state.
Amy will be celebrated alongside other remarkable women at The Daily Record’s 30th Anniversary of Maryland’s Top 100 Women on May 5, 2025.
